KATHLEEN
DUQUETTE
.

Kathleen’s father, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, passed away in November of 2018. In keeping with his wishes, he was buried at the Agawam Veterans Cemetery. Kathleen was emotionally touched by the honor that was provided to her father during the ceremony at the cemetery, and purchased a Memorial Brick for the Memorial Pathway in his honor. After learning about the Friends she decided to become actively involved; as a way to keep her father’s memory alive and also to remember the many other Veterans who sacrificed so much for our country. She served as our initial Fund-Raising Committee Chairperson was the Coordinator of the Scrap Booking Event, as well as our being involved in our public awareness efforts at the National Night Out in Agawam and Veterans Appreciation Day at the Big E and our newest venture, the “Taste Book”.  At the October 2018 election, she accepted the position as Treasurer, in  which she continues to serve.  In 2021 Kathleen was the originator and driving force behind the "First Annual" Sarah The Fiddler Benefit Concert at the Sons of Erin in Westfield.
