PAUL BARABANI.

Paul served 32 years in the Mass Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class before being commissioned in 1978. He retired in 2002 at the rank of colonel.

 

In 2006, he began his service to Veterans as the Administrative Officer to the Chief of Staff at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds, where he served for five years. With his experience in Veteran healthcare, in 2011 he was appointed as the superintendent of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke, from which he retired in 2016.

 

Paul is a member of American Legion Post 353. He was elected president of the Friends in 2018, and reelected in 2019, extended in 2020 due to Covid, and was reelected in 2021. Paul believes in "Term Limits" and did not seek an office at the 2024 election, yet will remain active in the organization; thereby allowing for new ideas and involvement of others.

 

Paul is currently serving as President Emeritus for The Friends to help guide the new board.
