Marie’s parents, along with several other family members, are laid to rest at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Agawam. Marie has been profoundly touched by the compassion and respect shown by staff and volunteers during their services. The beautifully maintained grounds are a continual source of comfort and appreciation.

After retiring in 2023 Marie wanted to contribute and found her place with the Friends organization which needed someone to manage their website, a perfect match given her tech background. Marie updates the website, creates email campaigns, newsletters, general meeting slides, and volunteers at events.

​

Staying involved keeps Marie busy and fulfilled, especially sharing the Friends’ mission with others and connecting with fellow volunteers.

​

In addition to volunteering with the Friends, Marie also volunteers at the Agawam Tax Aide site during tax season as a client facilitator.

​

Marie is currently serving as Vice President for The Friends.
