Paul
Fontaine

Paul grew up in Agawam and graduated from Agawam High School in 1974. He joined the Army in 1975 and spent three years in the Service, two years stationed at Fort Devens, MA with the 10th Special Forces Group and his third year stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Paul's MOS was Parachute Rigger, where he packed both personal and cargo parachutes. He had the privilege of being able to jump out of perfectly good airplanes quite often! Paul also had a couple of Free Falls too!

Paul recently retired at the end of 2023 after working most of his career repairing Auto Interiors and Furniture Repair, he also worked at OMG in Agawam.

​

Paul attends St. David's Church in Feeding Hills and is currently the Junior Warden. He is also the Treasurer for the Agawam Bowmen Club.

​

Paul first learned about "The Friends of the Agawam Veterans Memorial Cemetery" at the Night Out Event at School Street Park in Agawam. He sponsored his first wreath at the event. Paul felt the need to contribute to the Community of Agawam in some way. Not too long after that, he joined the "Friends". Paul enjoyed working at the Wreaths Across America Mobile Unit at the Eastern States Exposition. Paul feels Honored to be able to volunteer for the community to help remember our fallen Soldiers and Veterans and those who sacrificed their lives to keep our Country Free!

Paul is currently serving as a director for The Friends.
