The Friends were honored to help welcome the convoy "Escort to Arlington", also known as "The nation’s longest Veterans Parade", as they passed through on their way from Maine to the Arlington National Cemetery.
The convoy consisted of 14 Tractor-Trailers carrying wreaths to Arlington: a commercial tour bus, 20 WAA wrapped vehicles, and approximately 20 Law Enforcement Vehicles. The bus and vehicles carried many dignitaries who travelled with the convoy.
The public was invited to join us to see the arrival of the convoy followed by the nationally streamed Flag Waiving as part of Wreaths Across America’s “Flags Across America Program” which took place at 9:15 am, after the arrival of the convoy at the Bethany Assembly of God. Following the Flag Waiving there was an indoor recognition program.
Special thanks to Bethany Assembly of God, Jersey Mike’s, Interstate Towing, King Gray Coach Lines, Patriot Riders, Lions Club and Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and all the other participants that made it a great day!
